Emerald Learning is a clinician-owned private school and practice in Federal Way, WA, providing intensive behavior supports for students with complex educational and behavioral needs.
Our team specializes in progressive, trauma-informed care that fosters autonomy and self-advocacy for all of our students. Dignity and safety underlie all of our practices and are reflected in all our interactions with students and with the community abroad.
We provide 1-on-1 support to maximize our student’s progress while ensuring that we meet their unique educational needs in a safe environment.
On January 29th, 2024, The Emerald Learning Center will be moving its main operations to the former location of what was
Northwest SOIL at 1819 E 72nd St #1903, Tacoma, Washington 98404.
Emerald Learning is also retaining many of the students at the former Northwest SOIL school in Tacoma order to preserve continuity in the services they are legally entitled to and need for their educational and socio-emotional needs. Simultaneously, we are diligently retraining former Northwest SOIL staff who wish to try to remain at the site working for the students under our radically progressive and transparent approach to special education. We have de-commissioned restraint and isolation rooms and have adopted least-invasive measures to address student behaviors.
While protecting individual privacies according to the rules and regulations for such things, we pledge to be thoroughly transparent with stakeholders as we implement the most progressive practices with fidelity and love for the atypical learners here who need it.
